Some list Elizabeth's maiden name as "Duke" but what is the source for that? Gene Blair stated that there were several anecdotal references to this being her surname, but apparently no primary source documentation.

She is sometimes listed as "Elizabeth Celia" Duke, but what is the source for "Celia?" Women of her era typically didn't have middle names, though there were exceptions.

She may have been alive as late as 1830. Her son David Dugger was in Ashe Co., NC for that census and had a female age 70-79 (born 1750/1760) living with him. That could be Elizabeth or perhaps it was his mother-in-law instead. No way to be sure.
