David is the 5th child & 3rd son of Daniel & Hannah Webster. He was born in 1764 shortly before the family moved to Chatham in Columbia county NY. He married about 1786 to Susannah Bliss. She was the daughter of Stephen and Catharine (Burt) Bliss. Stephen was of Wilbraham, MA & Catharine was of Springfield, MA. By 1794, David & Susannah had removed to Westmoreland, Herkimer county (now Oneida Co).
David Webster was a devoted member of the Methodist Episcopal Church and a great reader of the bible. He was remarkably well preserved, his teeth even remaining unblemished to the last...how this information is known is not told in the Genealogy. His will dated Sep 12 1850 leaves bequests to: my son-in-law Nathaniel Kenyon; my oldest daughter, Alphleda Downing; my grand-dau, Almira Green; my youngest daughter, Susan Eames; my son Asahel Webster, Ex'r.

Children of David & Susannah Webster; all born in Lee, Oneida Co.,NY, except possibly the two oldest is resumed in Chap 26 p.605:
* Sylvester, b.1786; d.28 Jun 1814 age 28. Buried in Hall Cemetery
* Alphleda, b.1788, m. Andrew Downing & died of cancer in 1862 age 74. "She was a great-hearted, old fashioned Christian woman." She adopted and raised a son, Andrew, who in 1893 still lived in Lee Center, NY
* Polly b.abt 1790, m. Nathaniel Kenyon. They raised their family and died & are buried at Lee Center, NY
* David, b.24 Jan 1793, a chair maker & carpenter. He m. Anna Scott in 1825 He was a soldier in the War of 1812, his widow applying for a pension in 1862 at 62yrs. She affirmed that he had enlisted at Western, NY and served from Sept 3 to Nov 14. She had married him at Seneca Falls, NY & he died May 14, 1832 at Lee, NY of consumption & is buried at Hall Cemetery. They had 3 girls. The End.
*Fanny, b.abt 1795, m. Russell Kenyon and died at West Monroe, NY in Oswego county.
*Isaac, b.1798; d. 1816 at age 28. Buried in Hall Cemetery. The dates dont jive. If 1816 is right he was 18
* Asahel, b.abt 1800, a shoemaker, m.Caroline Walker. They lived in Lee Center, NY until about 1850 when they removed to Waterville, Wisconsin in Waukesha county. They had 6 children, 4 sons who are continued in Chap 58 p.1190.
* Lorenzo Dow, b. 1803 d. 17 Apr 1828 age 25. Buried in Hall Cemetery.
* Susan, b.19 Aug 1808, m.Daniel Eames in 1829. They raised their family in Lee Center, died there & are buried at Evergreen Cemetery. She d.1878 age 70 & he d.1887. There were 3 Eames children who are continued in Chap 58.
