    In the 1900 census, David and his family were living in Loudon Township, Carroll County, Ohio. He was listed as David H. Colar age 32 born August 1866 in Ohio, his wife Alberta V. age 32 born June 1867 in Ohio, their children listed were; Hattie B. age 10 born October 1889, Florence L. age 8 born April 1892, Norah M. age 6 born November 1893, John W. age 4 born June 1895, Homer H. age 3 born April 1897 and Conlee I. age 1 born January 1899, all born in Ohio. The census stated they were married for 12 years and had 6 children, and all 6 were still living at that time.

    David H. Kohler, son of Jacob and Sarah Kohler died of paralysis at his home at Kilgore Friday morning, October 31, 1930. He was born on August 5, 1866. He was united in marriage to Bertha Hosterman on December 25, 1887, to which union were born 10 children.
    Surviving to mourn the loss of their loved one, are the widow, Mrs. Bertha Kohler, of Kilgore, four daughters; Mrs. Edward McAfee of Jewett, Mrs. Mack Andrews of Harlem Springs, Mrs. Vern Choler of Pontiac, Michigan and Mrs. William Albaugh, Jr. of Kilgore, four sons, Wilbert Kohler of Canton, Homer, Orton and Donald and one brother, George Kohler of Kilgore. Also 17 grandchildren. Two daughters, Hattie and Leah, and one brother, Albert, preceded him in death.
    In his youth, Mr. Kohler, was united with the Lutheran Church of Kilgore. Services were conducted by his pastor, Rev. Earle Stainbrooke, on November 2 at 1 p.m.
