Will Abstract

Will of David Edmundson of the County of Rockbridge State of Virginia, dated 3 February 1821.
Names "well beloved wife Sarah and sons James and William all my lands not otherwise disposed of in this my last will and Testament".
"I direct my said executors to sell a tract of land lying near the foot of the south mountain on the waters of Camdens Creek, or the other tract of land lying near top of the South mountain at Pryors gap, as may seem best to my executors"... "for the payment of my debts".
2nd. Names daughter Elizabeth Templeton and her husband James Templeton.
3rd. Names daughter Agnes McCluer and her husband Arthur McCluer.
4th. Names daughter Jane Laird.
5th. Names daughter Sarah Paxton.
6th. Names son David.
7th. Names son Thomas, "I give and bequeath to my son Thomas that part of my plantation on which I now live lying next to the lands of James Templeton, David Templeton and the heirs of Alexander McNutt, dec'd."
8th. Names daughter Polly, I give and bequeath to my daughter Polly a negro girl named Rachel and any increase she may have, also another girl named Amanda, but not her increase if any she may have, at the death of my wife Sarah and also a horse and saddle, and some cattle as my Executors may think best to be furnished by my sons James & William."
9th. Names son Thompson.
10th. "I give and bequeath to my sons James & William, all my lands and other property, not herein before disposed of, to be equally divided between them at the death of my said wife Sarah.
"Lastly, I do hereby make constitute and appoint my sons David Edmondson and James Edmondson my only and sole Executors of this my last will and Testament"..
