[edit] Related[edit] OverviewDaniel Walker was born in the early 1760's in Caswell, North Carolina. The earliest mention of him is a 1784 Caswell County Tax record in St. David's district along with his likely father James Walker. YDNA matches Walker DNA Group 33, and he is most likely named after Daniel Johnson, the brother of his mother Isabella. Daniel was generally not used for children in Walker Group 33, so this name likely came from the mother's family. Daniel served under William Bethel in the Revolutionary War[1][2]. He later moved to Laurens County, South Carolina[3]. It is highly likely that his brother accompanied him, as Daniel is on land records involving both the O'Bannon and Ragsdale families. Daniel married an O'Bannon, and Robert married a Ragsdale.[4]. He later migrated to Davidson County, Tennessee[5] where his daugther Mary married a Liles. He then spent some time in Kentucky (presumably near his brother Robert) and finally settled around what is now Pike County, Missouri[6][7] References
