   In the 1900 census Christina was living in Monroe Twp., Carroll Co., Ohio. She was listed as age 59 (widow) born July 1840 in Ohio. It also stated she had 4 children and all four were still living.

   Mrs. Christina Slates, 81, died on Tuesday evening at Dellroy. The body will be brought today to the home of Mr. and Mrs. L. E. Guy, 211 North Lisbon Street, and interment will be made Friday at Kilgore.

   Christina Kohler was born July 3, 1840, near Jefferson, and went to rest March 8, 1921, aged 80 year, eight months and five days. At the age of 18 she was united in marriage with Isaac Slates, who departed this life August 8, 1881. Both were members of the Lutheran Church of Kilgore.
   To this union were born four children, all of whom survive; W. H. of Perry Twp., C. M., and Mrs. Samuel Guy and J. F. of Dellroy. She is also survived by one sister, Mrs. Mary Burrier of Kilgore, 11 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren. Throughout her long life she had been a kind mother and a real friend to all who knew her, and as God spoke to his servant Job: "Thou shalt come to thy grave in a full age, like as a shock of corn cometh in his season."
