In the 1900 census Susan was living in Loudon Township, Carroll County, Ohio. She was listed as Susan Burrier age 63, widow, born December 1836 in Ohio. Her parents birth places were listed as Ohio. Also living with her was Nancy Burrier listed as her aunt, age 72, single born February 1828 in Ohio. It also stated that Susan had two children, and both were living at that time.

Her obituary in the Carroll Free Press, Carrollton, Ohio, Thursday, December 1, 1904.

Mrs. Susanna Burrier, daughter of Mr. Henry Kohler and Mrs. Barbara Kohler, who formerly lived in Harrison County, was born December 4, 1837 baptized in her infancy and confirmed in her youth, and died November 23, 1904, aged 66 years, 10 months and 19 days. She leaves two sisters, one brother, Emanuel Kohler near Kilgore, and a son, John, and daughter, Anna, to mourn for her. She had chosen her Scripture Tes son Psalm 16; her next Psalm 16:8, and her hymns "A Sleep in Jesus, Jesus is Mine", and "My Heavenly Home is Bright and Fair." As the end approached her suffering body was still in time; but her thoughts were in eternity.
(NOTE-the different spelling of her maiden name. The original spelling was Colar, but over time some family member's changed the spelling to Kohler.)
