    On this 9th day of June 1855 personally appeared before me a Justice of the Inferior Court in and for said county, George F.
    Buchanan and Jacob Wolf residents of said state and county who being duly sworn according to law, depose and say that they were well acquainted with Christopher Poss and Susan Poss late residents of said county; the the said Christopher Poss and Susan Poss lived together as man and wife; and were reputed and believed to be such among their neighbors; and that Christopher Poss died during the fall of 1831, and said Susan Poss died in October 1827 and that George Poss and Catharine Agee formerly Catharine Poss are the only surviving children of said Christopher Poss and Susan Poss.

    On this 19th day of June AD One thousand eight hundred & fifty five Personally appeared before me a Justice of the Inferior Court in & for the County & State aforesaid George Poss & Catherine Agee residents of said State & County who being duly sworn according to the law, deposeth & saith that their Father Christopher Poss was drafted in the County of Rockingham & State of Virginia in the War of the Revolution for the term of eighteen months & served until the close of the war under General George Washington, was present at Yorktown & saw Cornwallis surrender. Their Father Christopher Poss died in Wilkes County Georgia in the month of April eighteen hundred & thirty-six leaving two children, George Poss and Catherine Agee.
    He was married in the year 1783 in Rockingham County Virginia to Susan Alan [sic, s/b "Aylor"] that his wife died in Wilkes County & State of Georgia in the year eighteen hundred and twenty seven, that there are no other heirs or children but deponants & who make this application for the purpose of obtaining the Pension money due their said Father Christopher Poss under the Act of Congress of July 7th 1832. That the said Father did not during his life nor has his heirs since his death applied for or received any Pension money for his said service. They further declare they have no document any evidence of his service in support of his claim unless the same is of record in the war department.

    Before me Thomas Elliott a Justice of the Peace within and for the County of Wilkes in the State of Georgia personally appeared the undersigned Citizens of said County who being sworn in due form of law on their oaths deposeth, and saith That they were personally acquainted with Christopher Poss late of said County deceased for many years. previous his death That we believe that the said Poss was a private soldier in the America Revolution against Great Britain and that was generally believed in the community in which he lived and did that he was a soldier as aforesaid and that George Poss and Katharine Agee are the only living Children of the said Chris’ Poss that said Poss died in the year 1836.
