From the May 27, 1995, edition of the Dubuque (IA) Telegraph Herald Catherine P. Kemerer ZWINGLE, Iowa -- Services for Catherine P. Kemerer, 76, 17545 Washington Mills Road, Zwingle, will be at 11 am Monday at Assumption Catholic Church, Sylvia Switch, rural Zwingle. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Friends may call from 3 to 9 pm Sunday at Egelhof-Casper-Strueber Funeral Home, 1145 Locust St., Dubuque, where there will be a wake service at 4 pm. She was born on March 17, 1919, in LaMotte, daughter of John and Kathryn (McCarthy) Regan. She died at 5:22 pm Thursday, May 25, 1995, at Mercy Health Center, St. Joseph's Unit, Dubuque. She married Ray Kemerer on April 2, 1945, in LaMotte; he died on May 23, 1994. She was a member of Assumption Catholic Church and its Rosary Society. Surviving are three daughters, Kathleen (Gerry) Lyons of Bernard, and Carol (Joe) Murguia and Helen (Kerry) Reisen, both of Zwingle; a son, Ray "Butch" Kemerer Jr., of Zwingle; seven grandchildren, Mike and Al Lyons, Amy Herrig, Sara Lyons, Sue Hess and Jennifer and Frank Reisen; three brothers, John (Natalie) Regan of Grand Mound, Julian (Shirley) Regan of Dubuque, and James Regan of Zwingle; five sisters, Amelia (Neil) Bruck of Bernard, Agnese (Joe) Hayes of Cascade, Margaret (Gene) Stillmunkes of Otter Creek, Pauline Takes of Bernard and Monica Hoerner of Zwingle and a sister-in-law, Joyce Regan, of LaMotte. She was also preceded in death by her parents, a brother, Fred, and a sister, Rita. A Catherine P. Kemerer Memorial Fund has been established. Image Gallery
