On the 1850 census, age 14, wi th parents in Laurel Twp., Hocking Co., Oh.[(p. 28 fam #405/414] The 1860 census shows David "Uncle" , 23, farmer with no dollar value on property or personal estate, Marion Twp., Hocking Co., Oh. Wife Caroline H., 21, is caring for their 2 children. Also listed is Barbara "Uncle", widow, age 59, and born in Germany.[p 72 fam #995/983] On the 1870 census, they are in Laurel Twp. David is 34, a farmer with $1400 in real estate and 800 in personal property. Caroline is 33 and cares for the children, Elizabeth through Daniel. We find also, Barbarey Unkle , 69, "on farm", b. Wutenburg. [p. 490, fam 232/232] The 1880 census for Laurel Twp. gives us David, 44, Farmer, born in Ohio, but parents born in Wutenberg. Wife Caroline, 42, has her hands full with the children, Elizabeth through Cara. Barbara Unkle is not listed with the family. [p 95B fam #233/244]
