Carl Julius was my Grand Uncle. He was a very successful man in his day. He owned a saloon in 1914 called "The Green Front" and a Mercantile Store in 1915 in Lewis Wisconsin. He operated the store until his death in 1920. He also owned a stucco home north of Main Street when he was first married. He died a young man at age 34. From document "An Account of the Almquists, An Epic of Elm Twigs" (1869-1985) by Lois Almquist Schiebel. Carl Almquist was a rich man.

Hard to read this copy-Not able to find via Heritage Quest and the copy from Ancestry.com does not print well at the library. When using Heritage Quest if you search for Albert Olson (he is the last entry on this page) you will find them. Odd thing is that this census was don in March of 1920 and Carl died in January of that year according to his headstone.

    Cannot read Carl's occupation.

Carl, wife Nellie and daughters Lois & Lulu listed.

3 born in United States: John Robert, Carl Julius and ?
4 born in Scandinavia: Gustaf Eric, Anna Johanna, Alma Sofia and Potencia Suafer.
Males are probably Gustaf, John Robert, Carl Julius and perhaps a son who did not live. (in the 1900 US Census Anna stated that she had given birth to 9 children but I am only aware of 7).
Females would be Anna Johanna, Alma Sofia and Potencia Suafer.

I do not know who the other male would be. They have listed that 3 were born in the US so I believe that they had a son that did not survive or that I do not know about.
