Florence Pittelkow said his first name may be Axell. Wanda May and La Vonne agree. (This was proven with Baptimal Record) They knew him as Uncle Ed. He used the name Edward most of the time. In the booklet produced for the 1st School Reunion of the Lewis School (dated August 8, 1987) it is stated that the first school building back in 1914 was 3/4 of a mile on Seven Pines road. It was called the "Almquist School" because it was on or adjoining Ed Almquist's land. He might have donated the land for the school. It also states that Ed Almquist had voted in favor of a new school building on April 19, 1920. He had also followed up on plans and work for that building.

Emanual was married 6 years and Anna listed 17 but it was crossed out to 6 years. Perhaps that is how long she had been married to Emanual and his brother Gustaf (her previous husband), who died, combined. Emanual immigrated 1869. # of years in US lists 81-impossible. Na
