CAMANCHE, Iowa -- Services for Benjamin B. "Ben" Tayek, 82, Camanche, will be 11 a.m. Wednesday at Church of the Visitation, Camanche. Burial will be in Rose Hill Cemetery, Camanche.

Visitation is 5-8 p.m. today at Camanche Chapel of Snell-Zornig Funeral Home and Crematory, with a Scripture service at 7 p.m.

Mr. Tayek died Saturday, March 17, 2001, at Mercy Medical Center-Clinton, North Campus.

He farmed many years in the McGregor area. He later was a custodian at St. Mary's Catholic Church and Rectory, Clinton, for nearly 15 years.

He was born May 23, 1918, in Giard Township. He married LaVerna Bolsinger in 1941 in McGregor.

Survivors include his wife, LaVerna; daughters, Connie Lessard, Camanche, Pat Voss, Clinton, and Ginger Meana, Marquette; eight grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and a sister, Florence Tayek, Mabel, Minn.
