CAMANCHE, Iowa -- LaVerna I. Tayek, 83, of Camanche, died Friday, Oct. 3, 2003, at Mercy Medical Center-North Campus, Clinton. Services will be 11 a.m. Monday at Catholic Church of the Visitation. Burial will be in Rose Hill Cemetery, Camanche. Visitation will be 5-8 p.m. Sunday at Camanche Chapel of Snell-Zornig-Dennis A. Lemke, where a 7 p.m. vigil service will be conducted. Pallbearers will be John Lessard, Mike Logan, Troy Meana, Charlie Smith, Stacy Gramlich and Steve Cundiff. She was born Sept. 6, 1920, in Turkey River, Iowa, the daughter of Bill and Blanche (Fogle) Bolsinger. LaVerna I. Bolsinger married Benjamin B. Tayek on Sept. 27, 1941, in McGregor. He died March 17, 2001. LaVerna farmed with her husband in McGregor for 25 years. She moved to Clinton in 1983 and had lived in Camanche for the past seven years. She had been a cook in McGregor at White Springs for several years. Survivors include three daughters, Connie (Roger) Lessard, of Camanche, Pat (Ronnie) Voss, of Clinton, and Ginger Meana, of Marquette; eight grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents, one sister, five half sisters and two half brothers. |
