Mrs. Ann Doan who has been ill for the past two months, died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. N. E. Gowen on East Main Street at 5:30 Wednesday evening.
Mrs. Doan had cancer and for some time her death has been reguarded as only a matter of time. The funeral was held at the Christian Church Friday at 1 o'clock Rev. Gambos pastor of the church and Evangelist McCooley conducting the funeral.
The burial took place in Mt. Pleasant Cemetery.
Mrs. Doan was 74 years and 7 months old at the time of her death. She was born in Highland County Ohio near Hillsboro, and when fifteen years old came to Richland county with her parents and located on the farm now known as the University farm.
Her parents Mr. and Mrs. Colvin later moved a few miles southeast of Olney and then to Wayne County. She was married to E.Y. Doan 54 years ago, and resided on a farm southeast of Olney until she moved to Olney about ten years ago, and she has since resided with her daughter Mrs. N. E. Gowen.
Mr. Doan died sixteen years ago. Mr. and Mrs. Doan had eight children seven of whom are still living.
The children are Maywood, Amos, Thomas, Frank, and Harry, and the daughters are Mrs. Kate Wilhite and Mrs. N. E. Gowen.
Mrs. Doan was pleasant and kind and made friends with all whom she came in contact with.
