SS#093-03-8365 Married in St. Loius Church Died at oswego hospital. Albert played the clarinet and was a member of the Phillips Band. He once ran for Alderman of the Second ward. Albert was a machinist for the Oswego Tool Works, 121 West First St. Albert, with his father, moved to Auburn around 1898 - 1899. He was employed by D.M. Osborne & Company and resided at 22 1/2 Division St.North. He moved back to Oswego after the untimely death of his father. (See Alphonse Monette for details)July 5, 1901. A laborer for the U.S. Coast guard for waterports and afterhe retired was a maint- enance man at Columbia Mills in Minetto, NY. He was honorably discharged from Company D, Third Regiment on 11/2/1908, he enlisted 5/13/1902

OBITUARY: ALBERT L. MONETTE(DIED 7-15-55)

Albert L. Monette, husband of Marie Thompson Monette of 75 East Seneca St., died this morning in Oswego Hospital. He was a well known resident of the Fourth Ward. Born in Oswego he was the son of the late Louis and Parpula LaMere Monette. A machinist by occupation, he was employed at the Oswego Tool Works for more than 30 years. Just prior to his retirement in 1948, he was employed by Columbia Mills. Mr. Monette was a sargeant in the old 48th Separate Company and a member of the old Phillips Band. He was a member of St. Pauls Catholic Church and of its Holy Name Society. Surviving with his wife are three daughters: Mrs. Edward(Clara) Compton of Syracuse, Miss Flora Monette and Miss Mary Louise Monette of Oswego; three sons: Albert D. Monette and Leo J. Monette of Oswego and Staff Sargeant Fostor F. Monette serving with the U.S. Marines on the island of Okinawa;two sisters, Mrs. Agnes Shambo of Auburn and Mrs. Josephine McLain of Elmira; five grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Friends are invited to attend the funeral from the family home, 75 East Seneca St. at a time to be announced. Burial will be in St. Peters Cemetery. Friends may call at the family home at their convenience.
