Albert Kamer, 65, 1118 Taylor died Wednesday at a Topeka hospital where he was admitted Feb. 14. He had an apparent lung ailment.
He was born Oct. 17, 1909 in Topeka where he lived all his life.
He and his brothers owned and operated the Kaw Valley Nursery. Later he was employed by Kaw Valley Produce, where he retired after 29 years. He was a member of Assumption Catholic Church.
He was married in 1936 to Florence Richardson, who survives at the home.
Other survivors include two daughters, Mrs. Jo An Tompkins, Burlingame, and Mrs. Diana Wiechen, 4152 W. 8th; a son, Edward Kamer, at home; three sisters, Mrs. Mollie Desch, 1036 Wayne, Mrs. Catherine Hefner, 419 Arter, and Mrs. Anna Holzmeister, Chicago; three brothers, John C. Kamer, 226 N. Chandler, Anthony Kamer, 205 Freeman, and Joe Kamer, 2518 California; five grandchildren.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Assumption Catholic Church. Burial will be in Mount Calvary Cemetery.
