John C. Kamer, 85, formerly of 226 N. Chandler, died Monday, Nov. 25, at a Topeka health center.
Mr. Kamer had worked with his father, who owned the Kaw Valley Nursery, where they specialized in trees and truck gardening until the late 1960s.
He was born Nov. 2, 1900 in Topeka, the son of John P. and Margaret Haefner Kamer.
He spent his life in Topeka. He was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church.
Survivors include 2 sisters, Emma Holzmeister, Chicago, and Mollie Desch, Topeka.
Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday in Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Burial will be in Mount Calvary Cemetery. Mr. Kamer will lie in state from 3 to 9 p.m. today at Brennan Funeral Home, where a parish rosary will be at 7 p.m.
