Will Transcript
- I, Adam Waggoner, being through...and mercy and goodness of God, tho weak in body yet of sound memory and perfect understanding, do constitute this my last will and testament in manner following (viz): first I bequeath my soul to almighty God my maker beseeching his most gracious acceptance of it, my body to the earth to be buried decently at the discretion of my Executors hereafter named. As to my worldly Estate I will and or ... all my debts be paid...
- I give and bequeath to my son George Waggoner one half of my land on Wolf Creek containing near four hundred acres him taking choice for his part of the said land to him and his heirs forever for them.
- I give and bequeath to my son Daniel Waggoner the other half of my land on Wolf Creek only he is to pay George Waggoner twenty pounds in anything to his satisfaction.
- Then I give and bequeath to my son Jacob Waggoner a tract of land joining mine wherence which has he sold to William Day.
- Item: I give and bequeath to my son David Waggoner the tract of land I now live on to him and his heirs forever only my wife Jane Waggoner to have her third out of it during her natural life.
- Item: I give and bequeath to my daughter Rebekhah Waggoner one breeding mare, two cows and a good feather bed good furniture or the value thereof.
- Item: I give and bequeath to my daughter Sarah Waggoner one breeding mare and a good feather bed a good furniture or the value thereof.
- Item: I give and bequeath to my daughter Christener Waggoner one breeding mare, two cows and a good feather bed good furniture or the value thereof.
- Item: I give and bequeath to my daughter Susanna Waggoner one breeding mare, two cows and a good feather bed good furniture or the value thereof.
- Item: I give and bequeath to my daughter Anne Waggoner one breeding mare, two cows and a good feather bed good furniture or the value thereof.
- Item: I give and bequeath to my son David Waggoner one breeding mare.
- Item: I give and bequeath to my wife Jane Waggoner one breeding mare, two cows and a good feather bed good furniture or the value thereof.
- Item: My will is that my young children be schooled and raised out of the estate.
- Item: My will is that all the remainder of my estate (viz) the land where Henry Stogaugh lives, the land I purchased of Ninian Cloyd, the remainder of my stock, all the cash and debts due to be equally divided with my wife and all my children, only pots and pewter and the necessities for housekeeping to my wife, and my son David.
- Item: My daughters Rebekhah, Sarah, Christener, Susanna and Anne Waggoner is to each have a good saddle.
- Item: My son, David Waggoner is to have 100 acres of land joining the other tract and good saddle.
- Item: I do appoint my wife Jane Waggoner Executrix, Thomas Patton and William (?) of my whole and sole executors of this my last will and testament.

- Page 477.--18th December, 1769. Michael Proops and Catherine to Henry Stone, Ludwick Wagoner, Mark Swadley and Christian Roleman commissioners for the members of the congregation of the Lutheran Church at the South Fork of Potowmack, 5 shillings, 3-1/2 acres, part of 415 acres whereon Michael now lives for use of the congregation forever. Teste: Leonard ( ) Proopst, Robert Davis, Ludwig Adam Wagener, William Davis.

Jane Waggoner was married to Adam Waggoner in Montgomery County ,Va. I don't know the date of their marriage and would really like to have it. But that is not the point of this message. Adam died in 1786. Then Jane became Jane LOCKHART when she married Wm. LOCKHART. A couple of years later Wm. died and she became Jane Hardmam in 1791. All this was in S W Virginia. I know she had several children by Adam Waggoner and at least one by William LOCKHART. DO you have any info on Jane? I would really like to know her maiden name. Could she have been related to the LOCKHARTS before her marriage to Adam? What happened to her children?
