Marriage

Chase County Tribune (Imperial, Nebraska) 2/15/1907, Page 8, Col. 4 MARRIED: At the residence of P.V. Willis, Esq. Russell precinct by Judge Hayes, on Sunday, February 10, 1907, Mr. John Miller, Jr. to Miss Mary Alice Willis, the youngest daughter of Mr. P.V. Willis. The ceremony was performed at precisely 11 o’clock A.M. in the presence of many of the immediate relatives and a few intimate friends. After the ceremony and congratulations were over a long table was set and heavily laden with good things to eat, there being a number of kinds of cake. Many presents from their numerous friends betokened the esteem and love cherished for them. Mr. Miller, the groom, who has come among us during the past two years, is a brother of Tony Miller and a life-long acquaintance of his charming bride. The bride resided with her parents a number of years in this county, and by her sweet and gentle disposition, attached a large circle of admiring friends. Mr. Van L. Willis, a brother, and Miss Orpha Mader were the attendants of the contracting parties. The day was an ideal one, and being selected by the bride becomes ominous of her married life; a sweet and bright future. Mr. and Mrs. Miller have secured the Layman farm and will at once begin home there and be at home to their many friends. The Tribune attends hearty congratulations and good will. May they enjoy a long and prosperous life together.
