Pedigree

A brief historical overview

The Richardson family spent most of the 1900s in Zanesville, Ohio, and most of the 1800s in Coshocton, Ohio. They likely arrived in Coshocton, Ohio when my fifth-Great Grandfather Joseph Richardson came from Virginia sometime between 1794 and 1817. It's also possible that he came with his father, who might have been named John. At present, I do not know precisely when he came. But we do know that Joseph was born in Virginia about 1794, and he first appears in Ohio when he marries Nancy Randles? in 1817 in Coshocton.

The Coshocton Richardsons seem to have spent much of their time in Jefferson and Jackson townships, and possibly (though unconfirmed at present) originally settled in Perry Township.

Current research goals

My current research is focused on extending the Richardson paternal line as far as possible. At present, I've documented the Richardson paternal line for eight generations. When you include me, here is the lineage I've documented so far:
