Dover 1665, m. a d. of John Goddard; but no more is heard. DAVID, Rowley
1678, a physician, by first w. Mary had David, and Sarah; by sec. w. Rebecca,
wh. d. 26 Mar. 1712, d. of Capt. Roger Spencer, and sis. of the w. of Sir William
Phips
, had Spencer, b. 6 June, bapt. 9 Aug. 1685; and youngest s. William; and
d. 4 Feb. 1719, it is said, in 103d yr. of his age, prob. very much
exagger. This Spencer B. adopt. by his uncle (the famous adventurer,
and wealthy Gov. of Mass.) took the name of Phips, the uncle hav. no ch.
was gr. at Harv. 1703, rais. to be of the counc. lieut. gov. 1733, and d. at
Cambridge, 4 Apr. 1757. He was f. of David, H. C. 1741, wh. at the revo.
grateful. adher. to the crown, and d. in Eng. 7 July 1811, aged 87. EDMUND,
or EDWARD, Weymouth, freem. 25 May 1636, rem. to Rehoboth
1643, perhaps was that Edward of Providence 1676, wh. resid. there
thro. Philip's war. ELISHA, Boston 1675, mariner, s. of Samuel. FRANCIS,
Boston 1650, by w. Alice had Mary, b. 15 Sept. of that yr. wh.
prob. d. young; James, 14 Feb. 1652; and Eliz. 20 Dec. 1654, d. in
few weeks; and he was drown. at Noddle's isl. 4 Dec. of next yr. His
wid. m. 8 Aug. 1656, Ralph Hutchinson, wh. took James and Eliz. with
their mo. to Northampton. GEORGE, Boston, drown. 27 Mar. 1652, by
w. Audry had one ch. in his lifetime, and prob. a posthum. one. GEORGE,
Lancaster, was k. by the Ind. as Harrington tells, 22 Aug. 1675. HENRY,
Salem, 1630, on the Marblehead side, was of Ipswich, 1665, as in 2
Mass. Hist. Coll. VIII. 107, appears. HENRY, Lyme, m. 27 Jan. 1673,
Sarah Champion, eldest d. of Henry, had Caleb, b. 11 Oct. 1675; Rose,
15 Nov. 1677; John, 26 Dec. 1680; Love, 19 Mar. 1685; Dorothy, 19
May 1688; and Henry, 29 July 1691; and d. 1726. ISAAC, perhaps of
Stratford, m. 1683, Elizabeth d. prob. of Daniel of Wethersfield, or perhaps
of Robert S. JAMES, Concord, freem. 13 Mar. 1639, by w. Hannah, eldest
d. of the first Thomas Wheeler of C. had Hannah, b. 1 June 1640; Thomas, 16
Oct. 1642; rem. with his f.-in-law to Fairfield, 1644, there had two more ch.
and perhaps others, for in 1670 James of Farmington, prob. his s. was
18 yrs. old, and there were three fams. of this name in that town. JAMES,
Northampton, s. of Francis, m. 1675, Mary Broughton, d. prob.
of the first John, had Mary that yr. and the 19 May next he was k. by
the Ind. in the Falls fight. His wid. m. the same yr. Benoni Stebbins;
and Mary m. John Field, and d. 1697. JAMES, Charlestown, perhaps s.
of John of the same, m. 4 Feb. 1681, Elizabeth d. perhaps, of Thomas Tarbell
the first of Watertown. JOHN, Marblehead or Salem 1633, may have been
short time at Windsor, 1647, but seems perman. resid. at S. 1648, yet in
1660 at New London. There he liv. not long, for inv. of his wid. was produc.
in June 1663. JOHN, Charlestown, d. prob. May 1674, at least his inv. is of
23d of that mo. He was drown. 15 Apr. preced. then aged 42, had Josiah,
James, and perhaps others. JOHN, Stonington, had John, b. 24 Feb. 1659,
d. in four yrs. William, 1660; John, again, 1666; Joseph, 1681; and others not
kn. and d. 22 Sept. 1691. JOHN, Beverly, s. of Peter of Bristol, Eng. came
hither from Virginia 1668, m. 1671, Deborah Grover, d. I think, youngest
of Edmund, rem. to Middleborough 1692, was one of the found. of the first ch. there,
