St. Albans Rural District was located in the western part of Hertfordshire, England from 1894 until 1974. It surrounded the city or Municipal Borough of St. Albans. During the period of its existence St. Albans Municipal Borough was enlarged and reorganized. These changes also led to changes in the makeup of the rural district. When it was abolished in 1974, some parishes went to Dacorum District and some to St. Albans. [edit] Parishes
