    BRUNE, Simon. - Funeral services for Simon Brune, age 74, were held in the Chapel at the Cypress Lawn Cemetery on Dec. 29, (1979) Rev. A. Cammenga officiating. Mr. Brune was born in Orange City, Iowa, Aug. 27, 1905. Moving to Lynden with his parents in 1909. At the age of 20 he moved to Everett where he passed away. He held the rank of Master Sargent in World War II. He was a retired butcher, working for Swift & Co. and Safeway stores. He is survived by 3 daughters, Sybil Mason, Linda Heinzen of Everett, Patricia Hansen of Long Beach, Calif. 15 grand children and 8 great grandchildren. 5 sisters, Mrs. Johanna Zylstra, Mrs. Hilda Blankers of Lynden, Mrs. Marci O'Connor, Langley, B.C., Mrs. Enna (sic) Geleynse and Mrs. Minnie Osberg of Bellingham. Numerous nephews and nieces. [also 3 brothers Fred, Dave and Bert Brune of Lynden]
