    BRUNE, David, age 91, formerly of 210 Hawley St., Lynden passed away Sun., Oct. 9, 1983. Born June 21, 1892 in the Netherlands, Mr. Brune moved to the Lynden area from Iowa in 1909. A retired electrician, Mr. Brune had worked for Mills Electric for many years, and was a member of the IBEW Local No. 191 in Bellingham. He was a life member of the noon Kiwanis in Lynden and was a member of the First Reformed Church where he had served an an elder and Sunday school superintendent for 30 years. He was married to Esther McGrath in Nooksack on May 26, 1917 and Mrs. Brune died in 1967. He is survived by a son Maurice & wife Maxine of Bellingham; 2 daughters, Mrs. Bea & husband Carl Ronhaar of Lynden and Mrs. Anne Borden of Seattle; a daughter-in-law, Mrs. Ruth Brune of Mukilteo; 15 grandchildren; 29 greatgrandchildren; a brother Bert & wife Jeanette of Lynden; 5 sisters, Mrs. Johanna Zylstra of Lynden, Mrs. Marie O'Connor of Langley, British Columbia, Mrs. Enna Geleynse & Mrs. Minnie Osberg, both of Bellingham and Mrs. Hilda & husband Ernest Blankers of Lynden and numerous nieces & nephews. He was also preceded by a son Bernard in 1982. Funeral services will be conducted on Wed. Oct. 12 at 2 P.M. in the First Reformed Church with Rev. Gordon VanOostenberg officiating. Burial will follow in Monumenta Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the Memorial Fund of the First Reformed Church. Services are under the direction of the Gillies Funeral Home.
