    Ruth Carlson was born in Topeka.  She married the brother of her sister's husband.  Ruth and Gust had their home built at 110 N. Courtland, Topeka and spent their entire married life at one address.  Ruth loved to chochet, raise flowers, was a good piano player.  In her later years she started family history research (Judy joined Ruth researching family history in the 1960's)

   Mrs. Ruth Carlson
   Mrs. Ruth E. Carlson, 71, formerly of 110 N. Courtland, died Friday at a Topeka Convalescent Center.
   She was born Feb. 15, 1904 in Topeka were she was a lifetime resident. She was a member of Potwin Presbyterian Church.
   She was married May 13, 1924 to Gust K. Carlson in Topeka. He died Nov. 24, 1970.
   Survivors include three daughters. Mrs. Marjorie M. Eaton, 1308 Caledon, Mrs. Shirley Standish, Burlingame, Calif., and Mrs. Beverlee A. Carlson, El Monte, Calif.; a sister, Mrs. Edwin Carlson, Clifton and five grandchildren.
   Services will be at 11 a.m. Monday at Penwell Gable funeral Home with burial in Memorial Park Cemetery.
