Two letters in file: 1. Last letter to his sister Anne Magnuson dated Dec. 14, 1923. She'd sent him $10 and he thanked her for it. Told about headaches and not being able to walk. Had hopes of getting better soon and having his own money. 2. From Ruth J. Whylor to Anne Magnuson, she took care of him in her home in Phoenix. Dated May 17, 1924. She mentions how they all miss Lester. Describes the operation. She stood by hsi side during the operation. It was terrible to see the hole bored into his head. He was never the same afterwards. Lester often spoke of his sisters. Thanks Anne for embroidered lunch cloth. To her it will always be a reminder of the patient, gentle and cheerful boy who made our lives more pleasant for the few short months he was with us.
