Clarence Ole Olson was born August 30, 1891 in Manhattan, KS. The second son of Nels and Emma (Schaubel) Olson. He grew to manhood on the outskirts of Topeka, Kansas, where his family moved soon after his birth.
In 1916 Clarence moved to Bozeman, Montana where he spent the remainder of his life. He was employed by the Pike Creamery for years, and his last sever years had been butter maker at the Gallatire Cooperatiave Creamery.
On March 17, 1927 he married Ellen Reiser Layton in Bozeman. They had one daughter Mary Ellen.
Clarence was a member of the Loyal Order of Moose.
He died May 21, 1941 with heart disease at the age of 49. He is buried in Bozeman, Montana.

Obituary - TOPEKA CAPITOL JOURNAL, May 21, 1941 C. O. Olson, 49 - Succumbs to heart disease: Clarence O. Olson, 49, died at the Deaconess hospital at four o'clock yesterday afternoon. He had been ill with a heart disease since March 16. He was taken to the hospital Saturday. Mr. Olson was born Aug. 30, 1891 in Manhattan, Ks. the son of Mr. and Mrs. Nels Olson. He grew to manhood on the outskirts of Topeka, Ks. where his family moved soon after his birth. In 1916 Mr. Olson came to Bozeman where he has since lived. He was employed by the Pike Creamery for years and for the past seven years has been butter maker at the Gallatire Cooperative Creamery. He was married to Ellen Reiser Layton in Bozeman, March 17, 1927. Mr. Olson was a member of the loyal Order of Moose. He is survived by his widow, a daughter Mary Ellen, seven years old, his father, Nels Olson, Topeka, Ks. Step daughter Mrs. Floyd Herrin of Bozeman, Four step grandchildren, Four sisters, Mrs. Edwin Carlson, Clifton, Ks., Mrs. Anna Magnuson, Miss Bertha Olson, Mrs. Ruth Carlson.
