Grandma Conklin (Mary Adelia (Minnie) LaChapelle) said Louis LaChapelle, as a small child, drowned at Alcona, which would have to be after 1855. (DJR 7/93)

His body was carried by his brothers to the Catholic Cemetery in Harrisville, Michigan. He was the first burial there; his father gave the land, she said, for the cemetery and the church.
