Watrin Of This City Passes Away Death Came Sunday After Lingering Illness Joseph Philip Watrin of this city passed away at 8:45 Sunday morning at the Wright hospital. His death was due to cancer. Mr. Watrin was born Sept. 22, 1886, at Fairbanks, Iowa. His patents later moved to Nashua, Minn. He has spent most of his life in Fergus Falls. His parents preceded him in death. His marriage to Clara Belle Chamberlin took place December, 1909 at Elbow Lake. Mrs. Watrin passed away in June, 1939. Eight children were born to them. Two of the children passed away in infancy. Left to mourn their father's passing are two daughters and four sons. They are Mrs. LeRoy Drake (Mildred) of Fergus Falls; Mrs. O.W. Balzer, (Bernice) of Minneapolis; Howard of Tacoma, Wash.; Lyle, who is in Germany; Alvin who is in Guadalcanal, and Milan of Jamestown, N.D. He is also survived by eight grandchildren, four sisters, Mrs. J.J. Brenan of Waterloo, Iowa; Mrs. Frank Pickering of Oelwein, Iowa; Mrs. Mary Scott, of Bemidji; Mrs. Elizabeth Coffaa of North Dakota and one brother Peter Watrin of Canada; also nine half-brothers and sisters. Funeral arrangements will be announced later. Funeral of Jos. Watrin Funeral services for Jos. Watrin were held at the Johnson Chapel Thursday at 2 p.m., with Rev. B. C. Heinze sang three appropriate selections. The flowers were beautiful. Pallbearers were Cornelius Witt, Neal Stiyer, R.D. Norton, Geo. Zahnow, Geo. Bockoven, and Lute [sic] Zent. Out-of-otwn relatives attending the services were Mr. and Mrs. Brenan and Mrs. Dowel Brooks of Waterloo, Iowa; Mrs. Frank Pickering of Oelwein, Iowa; Mrs. Mary Scott of Bemidji; Mrs. M.M. Dahl of Jamestown, N.D.; Mr. and mrs. Lloyd Chamberlain of New York Mills; John Cooper of Nashua and J.M.O. Johnson and Joe Stiyer of Doran. References
