See Fetterhoff St. Peter Lutheran Reform Church record: Johannes Braucht, son of Adam and Rebecca, (born) Jan 19, 1816; sponsors - Jacob & Maria Laudermilch of Halifax Twsp. Armstrong Valley. There could be question if this was birth or baptism date, however it is the only verified date found yet, so used as birth. Baptisms there were typically soon after birth, so dates will likely be close. Johannes is common German Christian first name in youth and men usually went by their middle name. This places alert upon the first name of John/Johannes in records. See LDS record: marriage of John Brought and Martha Jane Hickerson Dec.12,1841 at Putnam Co.,OH. After divorce John apparently left the area (not in Putnam Co. for 1850 Census), but probably re-married (seek records for marriage #2 and possible children). See 1850 Sugar Creek Twsp, Putnam Co., OH Census Roll 227b, 026, pg 682 Index 106 (John Brought - may or may not be same man). Also 1850 Census Blanchard Twsp., Hancock Co., pg 799 shows John Braucht and on page 701 PK Twsp,, NT County = John Bracht.

Putnam Co., Will Docket AL (Allen County) pg 105 has John E. Brought report Putnam Co. 1849 (see my Brought line - another hint of closeness between various lines). Also, in 1850 Census of OH, I recorded John Braucht, 29 with Catherine, 27, Mary, 6, Levi, 4, and John, 7/12. This family is also recorded in my Jonas line (her maiden name = Catherine Ritter).
In Ohio at this period, there were so many different Braught families living very near to each other it can be confusing to keep relationships and lines clear. There were several John's in that area during these years and efforts to assure each individual's correct placement is challenging.

A Putnam Co., OH will for John Brought is dated 1847. Feb. 28, 2003 email report from Carole J. Schetter (cjshetter@worldnet.att.net) shared items of Putnam Co, OH Newspaper Notes as follows: 1845-1854: Sept 8, 1854, pg 35.. sale of real estate by court order: William M. Bell, Adm John Brought deceased vs. Ursela Brought et al Lots 35,36, 83 and 84 in Ottawa. August 20, 1854. also 1855-1854: May 6, 1856 .. E. H. Allen admr. of estate of John Brought, files partial settlement 19 May 1856 James MacKenzie final account as guardian of Ursela Brought, his ward 19 May 1856. pg. 32 Guardian Sale of Real Estate -- Ursula Brought, minor ward, lots in Columbus Grove and Gilboa, James MacKenzie, Guardian. There is reason to seek if John died (at Kalida, OH?) 1847 or 1854.
