James Hornet was baptised on 18th February 1733 at Shephall in Hertfordshire, son of Elizabeth Hornet, formerly Warner, and her husband Benjamin Hornet. He has yet to be traced after his baptism, as there were clearly a few people called James Hornet in the area at the time. At least three possible marriages have been found, but insufficient evidence to say which, if any, is him.
