Syracuse Herald American, 8 Jan 1989: IDA W. DURGEE Ida W. Durgee, 83, of 20 South St., Marcellus, died Saturday at her home after a long illness. Mrs. Durgee was a Moravia native. She resided in Baldwinsville for 50 years and moved to Marcellus in June. She was a graduate of Brockport Normal School and taught for five years in Baldwinsville and on Long Island. Her late husband, Theodore R. Durgee, was assistant superintendent of the Baldwinsville Central School District. The junior high school is named after him. He died in 1973. Mrs. Durgee belonged to the First Presbyterian Church of Baldwinsville. She also was a member of Chapter 218, Order of the Eastern Star Chapter 218. Because she and her husband were active supporters of the Boy Scouts, she was made an honorary member of Boy Scout Troop 80 of Baldwinsville. Surviving are three sons, James of Marcellus, John of Hollis, N.H., and Theodore of Syracuse; a daughter, Mrs. Annette Duger of Baldwinsville; and six grandchildren. Services will be 11 a.m. Tuesday at the First Presbyterian Church in Baldwinsville with the Rev. Roger A. Pohl officiating. Burial will be in Mt. Pleasant Cemetery, Port Byron.
