Auburn Citizen Advertiser, 14 Aug. 1931: DURGEE--WALLACE Miss Ida Wallace, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Theodore Wallace of Port Byron, formerly of Auburn, was married Monday August 10 to Theodore Durgee, son of Mrs. I.E. Durgee of Parish, at the home of the bride's parents. Rev. Mr. Thomas of Parish performed the ceremony. The attendants were Miss Ella Sauerbier of Walker N.Y. and Spencer Durgee of Parish. The house was decorated with fern and gladiolus carrying out a color scheme of pink and white. The bride was given in marriage by her father. Miss Irma Schillawakl of Auburn sang "I Love You Truly." Miss Mildred Schillawakl, who played the wedding march from Lohengrin, was accompanist. The bride wore a gown of ivory lace and slippers to match. Her long veil was held in place with a cap, caught on the sides with ornaments of seed pearls. She carried an arm bouquet of white roses. Her attendant wore a gown of coral crepe... A buffet luncheon was served, after which the couple left for a motor trip through the New England states. The bride is a graduate of Auburn Academic High School and Brockport Normal School. The groom is a graduate of Parish High School and Syracuse University.

Baldwinsville Gazette & Farmers' Journal, 3 Sept 1931: ACADEMY TEACHER MARRIED AT CAMDEN Theodore R. Durgee, Mathematics Teacher, Takes Bride Theodore Durgee, Baldwinsville Academy mathematics teacher, has been very secretive about his marriage, his fellow pedagogs think, but not enough so to keep it an entire secret from them on the eve of school's opening. It was unexpected, his fellow teacher say. The August 20 issue of the Camden Advance-Journal tells the following story: "Miss Ida A. Wallace, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Theodore Wallace of Port Byron, was united in marriage with Mr. Theodore R. Durgee, son of Mrs. Flora Durgee of Parish and the late Irving A. Durgee of this place. The ceremony took place at her home Monday afternoon, August 10... with Rev. William Thomas of Parish officiating. Mrs. Durgee is a graduate of Brockport Normal School, and for the past two years has been a teacher in Malverne, L.I. Mr. Durgee is a graduate of Syracuse University and at present is teacher of mathematics in the Baldwinsville High School. Mr. and Mrs. Durgee are touring the New England states."
