On the 1850 census, age 10, with parents, Marion Twp., Hocking Co., Oh.[p 853 fam #191/196] The 1860 census, Marion Twp., shows Daniel Ruff, age 24, as a farm hand with no real estate, but they have $300 in personal estate. Wife Elizabeth, 21; and child John, age 1, are with him. Also in home is a Solomon Ready, age 8.[p 152 fam #958/946] In 1870, Daniel 30 and a farmer with $1600 in real estate and $300 in personal property continues in Marion Twp., with a Haydonville Post Office. Wife Elizabeth is 31 and caring for their children. [p 506 fam #216/219] The 1880 census show us they are still in Marion Twp. Daniel, age 44, b. Oh., but father born Wutenburg, Ger., and mother b. Pa. He is farming. Elizabeth, 42, is carin g for their six children.[ED 63,p 101D, fam #106/107] In 1900 in Marion Twp. we see Daniel, b. Aug 1836, is 63. Elizabeth, b. Mar 1840, is now 60. They have been married 41 years and she has born 8 children, 6 alive at this time.[ED 32, p 115B, fam #163/163] In 1910 we see them continue to live there by themselves. Daniel, 74, is still listed as a farmer in Marion. Elizabeth, 71, declares they have been married 52 years.[ED 88, p. 7A, fam #125/128] On 1920 census, age 84, Daniel is retired. He and wife Elizabeth, 80, are in the home with son Jacob, Marion Twp., Hocking Co., Oh.[ED 45, p 10A, fam #182/182) They are in Row 19, St. Emanuel Lutheran Church Cemetery, Marion Twp., Hocking Co., Oh.
