bef. been a merch. dangerous. wound. in the great Narragansett fight, 19
Dec 1675, chos. an Assist. in May 1676, but 18 Sept. foll. d. of his wounds,

JOHN, Dorchester, a tanner, was s. of Sampson, m. Content, d. of John
Wales
, d. 18 Mar. 1683, aged 26, says the inscript. on his gr.stone; he
was brot. up by John Gornell, and had part of his est. JOHN, Hartford,
d. 19 Feb. 1698, leav. good est. for these ch. Mary, then aged 20;
Hannah, 17; John, 13; Joseph, 10; Abigail, 7; Jonathan, 4; and
Lydia, 1. JOHN, Boston, merch. came a 1678, from London, m. Sarah,
d. of Robert Pepper, had Sarah, b. 25 Aug. 1681; Susanna, 19 Mar.
1687; Samuel, 31 July 1689; Jonathan, 4 Jan. 1692; Abigail, 12
Apr. 1693; Benjamin, 23 Dec. 1695; and John, 1 Nov. 1697. He d.
betw. 12 July 1698, the date, and 29 Sept. foll. when pro. of his will was
made. His s. Benjamin is counted the progenit. of the late Hon. Jonathan
of U. S. senate. Ano. JOHN, of Boston had w. Prudence, and ch.
a few yrs. later. JOHN, Cambridge vill. now Newton, s. of Hugh of
Watertown, freem. 1690, was a lieut. selectman, by w. Elizabeth eldest d. of
lieut. John Hammond, had John, b. 22 Jan. 1677; Elizabeth 10 Nov. 1678;
Abigail, 16 Dec. 1679; Samuel, 22 Jan. 1690; Hannah, 26 Jan. 1696;
and Daniel, 10 Nov. 1698; w. d. 1714, and he d. a. 1720. JOSEPH,
Portsmouth, in 1667, convey. his est. to br. Robert of Sulham, Co.
Berks, in tr. for his three ds. Prob. he had been of Hampton 20 yrs.
earlier. JOSEPH, Watertown, s. of Hugh, m. 5 Feb. 1684, Mary,
d. of John Fiske, had Mary, b. 2 May 1685; Esther, 8 July 1686;
Joseph, 2 Oct. 1688; and Sarah, 17 Nov. 1691; was freem. 1690,
and d. 22 July 1702. His wid. d. 6 Jan. 1725. NICHOLAS,
