from the E. was at Northampton, a soldier, 1676, in capt. Turner's
comp. NOAH, Rehoboth 1675, was, perhaps, s. of Sampson. His w.
Martha d. 6 Feb. 1676, and he m. at Taunton, 6 Dec. 1677, Sarah
Fitch
, had Noah, b. 17 Dec. 1678; John, 28 Nov. 1680; Mary, 12
Dec. 1682. RALPH, Boston, came in the Abigail, from London, 1635,
was a joiner of Southwark, aged 35; with w. Ann, 35, the age perhaps
careless. insert. and ch. Richard, 5; Samuel, 3; and Susan, 1; had
here Zuriel, b. 11 Apr. 1637; John, 15 Oct. 1640; Jacob, 12 Apr.
1644; and Hannah, 23 Dec. 1647. But his will of 11 Jan. 1673, pro.
23 Jan. 1679, names only aged w. and the ch. Richard, Samuel, Susanna,
John, and Jacob. Susanna m. 14 Dec. 1659, William Norton.
RICHARD, Boston, prob. s. of the preced. m. 20 Nov. 1660, Sarah, d. of
Henry Messenger, had Sarah, b. 3 Sept. 1661; Jacob, 17 Oct. 1662;
Simeon, 23 Mar. 1664; and John, 9 Mar. 1671. ROBERT, Roxbury,
where his w. d. Apr. 1637, rem. to Dedham, there d. 15 Oct. 1667. His
s. John, Robert, and Thomas, who may all have been b. in Eng. had
admin. of his est. ROBERT, Boston, by w. Sarah, d. of Robert Reynolds,
had Robert; Sarah, b. 20 Aug. 1657; Nathaniel, 23 Dec. 1659;
Philip, 16 July 1662; and Elizabeth 29 July 1669. He was freem. 1673.
ROBERT, Medfield 1664, s. of Robert of Dedham, m. Abigail, d. prob.
of John Eaton. ROBERT, Portsmouth, gr.s. of the patentee, nam.
by the king, a couns. of the Prov. in 1680, d. 1688, leav. s. John
Tufton M. and Robert Tufton M. to keep up the righteous but useless
claim. ROBERT, Roxbury, m. 18 Nov. 1680 or 2, Elizabeth Chandler, wh.
d. 1688, had Robert, b. 12, bapt. 20 Jan. 1684; Elizabeth wh. d. 1686; and
John, bapt. 3 July 1687, d. in few days. ROGER, Hartford 1670, then
propound. for freem. SAMPSON, Dorchester 1651, shoemaker, had
prob. Sampson, wh. serv. in Philip's war; and John, b. a 1656; was of
Reboboth 1657, Swaosey 10 yrs. later; a Bapt. wh. aft. his rem. permit.
his s. John to be over. for bapt. 23 Sept. 1660, by John Gornel, tho.
hims. was in his judgm. oppos. to that ordin. admin. to childr. and he liv.
to Sept. 1676. See Bliss, 48. Of this man, Benedict, in Hist. I. 427,
speaks, I believe, tho. he calls him Samuel, when he relates, that he was
soldier on the Parl. side, in the great civil war, in the army bec. a
Bapt. and here was one of the chief founders with Myles, of the ch. at
Swansey, the first in Mass. He had, perhaps, s. Samuel, inhab. of Rehoboth
many yrs. later, and others, as Sampson, Joseph, and Noah.
SAMUEL, Boston, s. of Ralph, b. in Eng. m. 29 May 1662, Mary, d. of
John Holman of Dorchester, had Mary, b. 19 Apr. 1663; Ann, 4 July
1665; Thomas, 6 Dec. 1668; Samuel, 18 Apr. 1671; John, 29 Jan. 1674;
