This Ordnance Survey map of 1900 from A Vision of Britain through Time locates all the original rural districts established in Wiltshire in 1894. In 1934 there were a number of mergers of neighbouring districts.
Wilton Rural District was in the southern part of the county on the border with both Dorset and Hampshire. It was west of Salisbury Rural District and east of Tisbury Rural District, and south of the western part of Amesbury Rural District. Wilton Rural District existed from 1894 until 1934 when it merged with the Salisbury Rural District.
