__________________________ [edit] Related[edit] Note 1Person:Joseph Willis (22) of Mercer County KY is commonly identified as the father of William Willis of Madison County KY, the subject of this article. This seems unlikely as the will of Joseph 22 does not mention a son William (See Notebook. Joseph Willis, Mercer County, KY [edit] Note 2User:Ruthnevada located a Kentucky Supreme Court case that involves land dealings of William Willis, and shows him to have initially settled on Dicks River, near Wilson's Creek. The exact location of Wilsons' Creek on Dicks River is unclear. supreme court rulings in the district of Kentucky, Google Books It seems unlikely that this could be William (55) as the land entry in question was made by him in 1780, and his DOB is sometimes given as 1796. This DOB, however, could be in error as we do not have anything to base it upon. User:Ruthnevada has suggested that he could be considerably older than a 1796 DOB would indicate, partially because his daughter Ruth, thought to be eldest child, may have been born before 1796. More work on this is needed. William can not have a birthdate of 1796 if McKinzie has a birthdate of 1799. William signed for Rachel to get married. Rachel is not thought to be the eldest child, she is thought to be older than McKenzie. Just wanted to clear that up.ruthnevada 03:30, 23 April 2011 (EDT) |
