Name of wife may be a confusion. A Joseph Willis is identified as marrying a Mary Witt in Greenbriar County KY in 1808. This DOM is often cited for Joseph Willis of Mercer County KY, but is clearly too late for this marriage to be his. While its possible there are two separate Joseph Willis=Mary Witt marriages, this seems unlikely.
