• Page 287.--17th January, 1786. William Scott and Agness to William Scott, of Lincoln County. (The location or size of this tract was not listed, but in the will of James Ewing, he mentions "to son, James, lands conveyed by William Scott adjoining Philip Osinger and James Hathorn", who were living in Beverley Manor, the likely location of this land. The William Scott "of Lincoln County" is most likely William Scott, Jr., who was listed in the will of William Scott, Sr.).

Executor, Walter Davis. Teste: William Davis, David Caldwell, Jno. Davis. Proved, 20th January, 1795, by William and John Davis. (Note: this establishes William Scott's birthdate as about 1721, since he stated that his age was "about 70 years" at the writing of his will in 1791).

(Note: the mention of a Peter Scott is interesting, more research necessary to determine who this is, or perhaps this is a different William Scott on Reed Creek).

• Vol. 1 - AUGUST 21, 1755. - (469) Audley Paul produced account for services done Braddock's army and for a horse lost on the expedition; Major Scot, a carrier employed by David Stuart, ditto; Wm. Scot, a carrier, ditto.

• Page 178.--3d September, 1756. Robert Sayers' nuncupative will--To second son Robert (infant), all real estate bought from his brother David Sayers; father was testator's security in above purchase; to son Robert, a saddle which Wm. Scott is making; son, David (infant), which is a fool. Proved, 20th November, 1756, by Jno. Christian, John Hunter, Chas. Campbell. Was objected to by David Sayers, to whom administration was granted, because the will was not signed, but as Campbell and Hunter testified that the testator acknowledged it as his will, it is recorded and administration is rescinded; then administration is granted David as next of kin (Hannah, the widow, refusing to qualify), who qualifies with Jno. Ramsey and John Hunter.

List of bonds, bills, &c., due the estate: William Scott, 4th April, 1748 (listed among many others). (Note: this bond due Col. James Patton is most likely for the tract of land on "Middle Lick Run of Catawba" that Col. Patton transfered title to William Stott in 1750).

• Vol. 1 - MAY, 1760 (A) - William Scot and Elizabeth vs. Hughes. (Note: this record may be for the other William Scott that appears in Augusta County records, more research necessary).

• Page 120.--2d January, 1761. William Johnston's will, yeoman, aged about forty years--Daughter, Mary Johnston, 2 years old last June. Executor, Walter Davis. Teste: Wm. Scott, Michl. O'Donnell, John Cunningham, Robt. Cunningham, John Sorel. Proved, 18th May, 1762, by Scott, John Cunningham, and Sorel. Executor qualified, with Thomas Rutledge and Wm. Scott.

Robert, the land at the Great Spring; son, Samuel, a mare bought from Edward Gill; son, Michael, 50 acres between John Collier (Colyer) and John Wiley; son, John, 100 acres near John Collier's (Colyer) on the Dry Creek side; sons, Henry and Joseph, infants, land testator lives on to be divided by Richard Woods and Jno. Summers; to daughter Jane; to infant in wife's womb; daughters, Margaret and Elizabeth. If any of the heirs by former wife die infants. Executors, wife, Peter Wallace and Jno. Summers. Peter Wallace has authority to bind son John to his brother Samuel. Teste: Robt. Kirknam, Alex. Collier, Michl. Kirkham. Proved, 30th August, 1765, by Robert and Michael Kirkham. Thomas Hutcheson's will--To wife, Sarah, plantation and the boy, Thomas Rhoads (if she gives up Thomas Rhoades, then John Hamilton is to have him); to daughters, Agness and Sarah. Executors, Andrew McClure and John Hamilton. Teste: Zach. Johnston, Francis Alexander, John Williams. Proved, 20th May, 1772. by the witnesses. Both executors refuse to execute. Administration granted Sarah Hutcheson, who qualifies (her mark) with William Scott, William Scott. (Note: Sarah Hutchinson, wife of Thomas Hutchinson was the sister of William Scott).

• Page 18.--7th April, 1787. Thos. Hutchison's estate settled by Robt. Scott, administrator of Sarah, who was administratrix of Thomas--Paid Wm. Scott for finding Sarah Hutchison in a house to live in and fire wood for near two years. Burial expenses of the said Sarah Hutchison. (Note: this record mentions Robert Scott, who is suspected of being a sibling to Sarah and William Scott)

• Vol. 2 - Marriage Bond in Augusta County, VA - 1790--June 28, Edward Harding and Margaret Patterson, daughter of Robert Patterson (consent); witnesses, William Scott, Thomas Sharp; surety, George Kirkpatrick.

• Vol. 1 - DISTRICT COURT MEMORANDUMS, 1790-91. - This shall oblige me, my heirs and assigns to deliver unto Major William Long a warrant for one thousand acres of land for his service as a captain in ye Continental service. Given under my hand this 4th day of December, 1783. Witness: T. Madison. Assigned, 23d March, 1784, by William Long to Andrew Sutlington. (Signed) Alex. McClenachan. Test: Wm. Scott.

Executors, wife Martha, John Wilson, Mathew Willson, Jr. Teste: Robert Hanna, John McCutchen, Wm. Willson. Proved, 18th October, 1796, by the witnesses. Mathew Willson refuses in writing, others personally refused. Administration granted Martha Ewing, John Wellson, James Ewing.
