- Page 105.--23d October, 1779. Rebecca (mark) Caruthers' will--To daughter, Esther, all estate, together with £1,200 willed to Rebecca by her husband; mother; care of said child given to executors, for failure then, to John Caruthers; to sisters; to brothers; to brother, William; to brothers. James and John. Executors, father John Moffett. Teste: James Cunningham. James Young, Wm. Moffett. Proved, 16th November, 1779, by Young and Moffett.
- Vol. 2 - Marriage Bond: 1791--May 11, William Monet [sic, s/b "Moffett"] and Mary McClenachan, daughter of Elijah McClenachan; surety, James Moffett; witnesses, David Coalter, Elijah McClenachan, Jr.

Note: this William Moffett has been confused with some researchers with another William Moffett, son of George Moffett, who married Sally McChesney. This William Moffett married 1st, Elizabeth Gamble on 28 Jun 1785, and 2nd, Mary McClenachan on 11 May 1791.
