Betsy Stuart was the wife of William's brother, General William Campbell Edmiston -- which is his name, not a title.Camampbell, as he was called, was born in 1785. Needless to say, there has been much confusion between these two, especially because people did not realize that General was a name, not a title -- he was named after Col.
