Possible Sibling in Augusta County
Some researchers believe that William Burk may be related to James Burk, a contemporary in Augusta County, who could possibly be a sibling (more research necessary).
In the past several years Y-DNA testing has provided proof that the ancestors of William Burk and the ancestors of James Edward Burk share a direct paternal line ancestor no closer than over 700 years in the past (probably William de Burgh, 1160-1205/6). This has been proven through the most advanced Y-DNA analysis using Next-Generation SNP tests. It is conclusive.
