_DCAUSE: myocarditis, chronic pulmonary congestion , interstitisl neprhritis. Wilfred Tyler moved to Young County, TX with his parents and brothers and sisters in 1880. As a young man, he moved to Oregon in 1892. He joined the Army in 1898 and fought in the Spanish American War. In the Army, by mistake, he was named William T. Lamar. His Army record was never corrected. His Army record indicated that he was a laborer in civilian life. In 1892, Wilfred and Elsie May Lamar moved to Elmira, Oregon where Wilfred operated one of his mother-in-law's farms. In 1898, Wilfred joined the Arm to fight in the S/A war. He enlisted as a private in Company A of the first regiment of the US Infantry on May 22, 1898 at Galveston, TX. He signed up for two years, but was honorably discharged on October 28, 189 by reason of being mustered out of the Company. It was in joining the Army that his name was changed to William by mistake. He never went to the trouble of correcting the mistake; therefore, all of his pension hecks were made out to William Tyler Lamar. His army record indicated that he was a farmer during civilian life. He died at the Veteran's Hospital in Portland, Oregon, in Multnomah County in 1935 and buried in Mount Calvery Cemetery in Portland, Oregon. He died at 1729 SW Clay Street in Portland, Oregon, Multnomah County. He had lived there 18 years. The cause of his death was myocarditis, chronic pulmonary congestion and contributory causes were chronic, interstitial nephritis. He was of French descent.
