  • Vol. 2 - EXECUTIONS. - APRIL, 1792 (L to Z). - Samuel Miller, John Lewis and Rachel, his wife; James Miller, William, Hannah, Martha and Henry Miller, infants, by Samuel Miller, next friend, heirs and devisees of Henry Miller, deceased, vs. James and Walter Davis-- Caveat, 24th February, 1797. Certificate of location of 590 acres for Henry Miller, 1793.
  • Vol. 2 - Fletcher vs. Davis's representatives--O. S. 293; N. S. 104--James McCampbell married a daughter of Robert Davis of Rockingham and moved to Kentucky. Will of Robert Davis of Rockingham. Wife, Nancy; children, James, Nancy, Annes, John, Robert, Samuel, Ruth; brothers, James and Walter. Dated 11th September, 1804. Recorded in Rockingham, November Court, 1804. Deed, 4th September, 1817, by Daniel Bryan of Rockingham to Richard P. Fletcher, on 29th September, 1815. James McCampbell and Nancy B., his wife, by deed recorded in Rockingham, conveyed to Daniel, Nancy's undivided interest in Robert's estate. This deed conveys same. Recorded in Rockingham, 16th September, 1817. Deed mentioned above McCampbell to Bryan. (Note: this establishes Robert Davis of Rockingham as Walter Davis' brother).

The last will and testament of Elizabeth Herring dec'd was presented in court and proved by the oaths of William Lockridge and Daniel Smith and ordered to be recorded and on the motion of Walter Davis and Daniel Smith the executors named in the said will who entered into bond with security and made oath thereto as the law directs a certificate is granted them for obtaining a probate in due form.
