Valentina Mary Roney was born on the 12th February 1878 in Diggora, Victoria. Valentina was born eleventh of twelve children to Peter Roney and Sarah Brookman.

In Victoria, Australia Valentina married Aksel on the 27th April 1899. Valentina and Aksel had seven children.

Valentina died on the 26th May 1963 aged 85 in Melbourne, Victoria.
