Catherine Winifred Roney was born on the 21st October 1868 in Diggora, Victoria. Catherine was born sixth of twelve children to Peter Roney and Sarah Brookman.

Michael and Catherine were married on the 26th March 1894, in Victoria, Australia. Catherine and Michael had eleven children.

Catherine died on the 6th February 1934 aged 65 in East Brunswick, Victoria.
