Henry John Brookman Roney was known as Harry and he was born on the 5th February 1862 in Lamplough near Avoca, Victoria, Australia. Harry was born third of twelve children to Peter Roney and Sarah Brookman.

Henry's birth was registered over a month later on the 29th March. For some reason Henry and his older sister Anne have Crombie as their surname on their birth registrations.

On the 31st March 1892 Harry married Mary and they had three children.

Henry died on the 8th September 1931 aged 69 in South Melbourne, Victoria.
