  • 28 Aug 1750 William Cunningham Sr was on the tithable list for Augusta County, Virginia (Augusta County Order Book 11, page 421). John Cunningham Sr was also on the list and appear to be adjoining neighbors on Thorney Branch so they are probably brothers.

  • William Cunningham received a patent for "90 acres on head of Moffett's Branch" on 12th February 1755, (as listed in the disposition below).
  • William Cunningham received a patent for 350 acres "on Thorny Branch of North River of Shanandoah, corner Benj. Copeland's land, John Crosby's land" on 10th August 1759, (as listed in the disposition below).
